APPLICATION

AAC conductor full name as all aluminum conductor is primarily for overhead transmission and primary and secondary distribution, where ampacity must be maintained and a lighter conductor (compared to ACSR) is desired, and when conductor strength is not a critical factor

STANDARD

Standards: 1350-H19 for Electrical Purposes Concentric-Lay-Stranded Aluminum 1350 conductors Requirements of the National Electrical Code ASTM B-230 & B-231

Note: The values of current rating mentioned in above Table are based on wind velocity of 0.6 metre/second, solar heat radiation of 1200 watt/metre2, ambient temperature of 50° C & conductor temperature of 80°C.

CONSTRUCTION

A concentric lay stranded conductor consisting of Aluminum Alloy 1350-H19 wires. AAC is available in both single layer and multi-layer constructions

AAC ampacity based on 75 ºC conductor temp, 25 ºC ambient, 2ft1s wind, 961 watts/sq. foot sun, 0.5 coefficients of emissivity and absorption
